Community Services

Leader: Karlene Reid

Team: John Bartholomew, Dorothy Elliott, Janet Guthrie, Joyce Hylton, Lorna Harding, Marcia Biggs, Del Woodburn, Marina Joseph, Rosemarie Salmon, Ester Lewis, Margaret Watson, Zeres Souch

Our Mission is to get all departments working together as one team as Community Services includes the whole church and not just a single team.
In doing so we want to spread the love of Jesus and tell others about Christ. By working together, we can achieve more. We can also find out how to bridge the gap between us and the community.

The Community Services team aims and plans
  • Make our foodbank more impactful and intentional. To achieve this, we will contact the local authorities to find more information about those in  need in our area such as refugees, single parents, the homeless, etc to provide support.
  • Work together with other departments and the youth to find ways to better serve and minister to the community and our church members.
  • Set up a Clothes Bank for needy adults and children in the community.
  • Encourage men to get involved and play an active role in community service.
  • Collaborate with other departments and the neighbouring churches to better serve and minister to others as God would want us to do.
  • Find out what projects the Council is running and seek ways where possible to get involved.

ADRA-UK Emergency Response – Hurricane Melissa

ADRA-UK has launched an urgent fundraising appeal to assist communities across Jamaica and neighbouring countries that have been devastated by Hurricane Melissa.

The ADRA Jamaica team is already on the ground, delivering emergency food and clean water to affected families, ensuring that humanitarian assistance reaches the hardest-hit communities as effectively as possible. In addition, they are undertaking a needs assessment across the island.

They are appealing for financial donations, as monetary support allows them to
respond swiftly and purchase exactly what is needed in real time.
Please note that ADRA does not collect or send containers with material items for
any appeal.

To make a donation scan the QR code in the image, visit the ADRA-UK website or transfer the funds directly to ADRA-UK’s account:
