Justice
Justice is an interesting concept designed by God to ensure that equity and fairness is seen and felt.
I especially like the usage of the idea justice in Romans 12:17-19 (NKJV)
Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.
The scriptures cross references Romans 12:17-19 with Deuteronomy 32:35 (NKJV)
Vengeance is Mine, and recompense; Their foot shall slip in due time;
For the day of their calamity is at hand, And the things to come hasten upon them.
Justice is something that humans like to see done to people; especially to people who have treated us in a bad, unfair or disgusting way. Rarely, however, do we expect to be the person whom justice comes looking for though.
Let us ponder 1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all our unrighteousness.
John helps us to understand that justice is only fair when the righteous God administers it. He is faithful, He measures our actions and our motives, thus He tempers justice with mercy.
May God help us never to seek our own brand of justice. Rather, may we allow Him to recompense.
Stay blessed beloved
